LED TV's are the latest technology to hit the market and achieve far more authentic colours with greater subtlety by using multiple LED's around the outer edge of the screen that can brighten, dim or turn off when required, rather than LCD technology that uses a constant backlight to illuminate the images

Full HD reproduces the picture in the exact way it was transmitted without having to scale the image to fit a lower resolution TV.

The number 1080 refers to the lines of vertical resolution and the letter p stands for progressive scan as apposed to interlace scan that is less smooth and can cause flicker.

A video format that operates at 24 frames per second. Standard TV uses 25 frames per second where as films for the cinema are shot at 24 frames per second. 24p mode allows you to enjoy films at the speed the director intended and not played back faster as would normally occur on a set not equipped with 24p.

Traditional TV's display visual images at 50Hz frames per second. 100Hz runs at twice that amount by creating an extra unique frame between each of the existing 50 frames. Doubling the frames displayed per second results in a much smoother picture especially when watching fast action movies and sports.
