A screen that is HD ready displays content in both 720p and 1080i formats and have both analogue component and digital HDMI connectivity and deliver at least 720 lines on the screen. In simple terms the more lines of pixels there are on the screen the clearer, crisper and more true to life your picture will be.

A technology that allows any Bluetooth enabled devices to communicate with each other using a radio broadcast communication system without the use of cables providing they are within range of each other. Originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS232 Bluetooth can connect several devices eliminating.

High Definition Multimedia Interface. HDMI cables can carry both video and audio signals and will eliminate the need for multiple cables. HDMI interface transfers uncompressed digital video without conversion of digital to analog and back again and eliminates information loss. HDMI enabled systems will automatically configure to display content in the most effective format.

In the HD DVD format, Dolby TrueHD was a mandatory codec. The HD DVD specification permitted the sole (primary) audiotrack of a movie to be encoded in Dolby TrueHD, and the specification requires support for up to 2 channel (stereo) decoding. In practice all HD DVD players decoded multichannel (5.1) programming, and of the few HD DVD movies to be encoded with Dolby TrueHD audiotracks, all were multichannel.
